Top 3 February

The top 3 things to do in February during Affinia’s Suite Sale Stay

You may have heard, Affinia’s Perfect Rate Sale is finally here! We want you to experience the perfect escape, in the perfect city. For this month, we are sharing some ideas on what you can do in NYC during your Suite Sale Stay.

1. While preparing for a trip to New York, many of us are drawn to old episodes of Sex and the City, or re-watch the acclaimed film, The September Issue. New York and Fashion seem to be synonymous. But how can you experience this in real life on your trip this month? NY Fashion Week was once an experience exclusively for magazine editors and buyers from major department stores. However, while visiting the city you can take part in the fashion scene by getting tickets to exclusive NYFW shows here. Imagine if Carrie Bradshaw lived during the current days of Instagram? Make her proud & snap some picture of your NYFW experiences and tag @affiniahotels!

2. New York is known for its various cultural communities, many of which haven’t lost their heritage & traditions. Downtown Manhattan has been an enclave for Chinese immigrants, and you can experience their culture at any time by traveling to Mott Street or Canal Street and trying delicious dim sum. But on Sunday February 25th, you can see a real treat & view the Chinese New Year Parade celebrating the Year of the Dog. More information can be found here here. Did you know that NYC’s Chinatown is home to the largest ethnic Chinese population outside of Asia? Feel cultured by traveling downtown during your stay!

3. To get in that Winter Olympic mood you may think NYC will have nothing to offer. You are wrong! In a notable addition to traditional Olympic viewing parties in bars across the city, you will find Mr. Purple’s Cabin in the Sky’s pop up concept. Watch the games on large screens while sipping some delicious Olympic inspired cocktails. For more information visit here. Did you know that New York did host the Winter Olympics previously? But not exactly in the city; they were held in upstate New York in Lake Placid in 1980.
