Twenty-Four Hours Exploring the Upper East Side with your Dog
Not many cities are very pet accommodating, New York City however specifically the upper east side has become a wonderful pet friendly neighborhood for you to enjoy with your precious companion. Start your day off early at Central Park as it allows dogs to be off their leashes from 6am through 9am. Your dog will love running free in the vast open spaces plus meeting other dogs to play with. Enjoy walking the various pathways that will lead you all over the park as you take in the gorgeous scenery.
Once you walk the park, make your way down to Birch Coffee for your morning brew. Make sure to try one of their delicious pastries or donuts and order the Birch cold brew. What is great about Birch Coffee is that it is a local coffee roaster and among the best in NYC.
Next take your dog to Canine Style Uptown for adorable outfits that will have your dog looking posh and fitting right in with those upper east side dogs. Before visiting, book an appointment at you’re going to be ravenous, Barking Dog is the perfect spot to grab lunch. It’s been declared as the best dog-friendly restaurant on the upper east side providing doggy water fountains and little treats. You and your dog will be pleased with their lunch menu.
Since it’s only fair you treated your pooch to shopping you must treat yourself to a little retail therapy. Bloomingdales has become a very pet friendly store, so no need to worry about your dog while shopping at this famous department store. Before leaving must try Forty Carrots, Bloomingdales iconic café for their frozen yogurt! When night falls and looking for a place for dinner, Bistro Milano is the perfect option. This authentic Northern Italian restaurant serves up lovely dishes from a variety of pizzas and pastas. Your dog will be welcomed with a big bowl of water and space for him or her to sit beside you.
With all that eating, and shopping end your night back at central park under the stars, as it again allows dogs to roam free without leashes from 9pm through 1am. Twenty-four hours on the upper east side with your trusty four-legged companion will not only want you but also your dog craving more of what the city has to offer!
