Perhaps best known as Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef, Art Smith is owner of the top-rated Table Fifty-two in Chicago and is a two-time James Beard Award recipient. He grew up on a family farm in the South, where he acquired an early appreciation for simple, fresh food prepared and served with love.
Four years after Celebrity Chef Art Smith opened Art and Soul, the Capitol Hill restaurant underwent a refresh and re-opened late February. You'll see new interiors for the restaurant, bar and private dining room and a fine-tuned, artisanal farm-to-table menu. Enjoy signature dishes including Fried Free Range Chicken and Shrimp & Grits, or try one of our new menu items including family-style pots of Seafood Gumbo or Duck and Rice Bean Stew.
Art and Soul offers indoor and outdoor patio seating. Reflective of the fine-tuned artisanal menu, the refreshed restaurant features beautiful herringbone wood floors and textured artwork, as well as communal tables, subtle lighting, and 16-foot rolling glass walls, hinting at the atmosphere of an indoor urban market. Our seasonal menu highlights simple, honest food that is sustainably and responsibly sourced whenever possible. In-Room Dining is available to hotel guests from Art and Soul's kitchen.Winner of Wine Enthusiast magazine's “America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants of 2011 & 2012"
