Our guests deserve the safest, most tranquil stay at Affinia Gardens, located on the Upper East Side in New York City. Following recent events, including Superstorm Sandy, we are proactively ensuring we continue to provide the highest level of safety and comfort by conducting an upgrade to our existing equipment.
Beginning early August 2013, the project will include replacing our current generator with a state-of-the-art, higher-capacity model to enable our team to power the hotel for a longer period of time. Smoke alarms in the guest rooms will be upgraded to a centrally-monitored system (speakers included) that are directly connected to the hotel’s Fire Command Station. We'll also install a new air duct that will aid in quickly extracting smoke from the hotel should a natural disaster or other occurrence create a fire.
Last, we'll install a system within the corridor of each floor that will stabilize the temperature throughout the hotel. Not too cold, not too hot. Just right.
We anticipate this project will be completed in December 2013.
