Common Ground
Affinia has formed a partnership with the nonprofit organization Common Ground, an international leader in the development of solutions to end homelessness. Founded in 1990 by MacArthur and Ashoka Fellow Rosanne Haggerty, Common Ground is the country’s largest provider of housing for the chronically homeless. Based in New York, Common Ground’s network of well-designed, affordable apartments has enabled more than 4,000 individuals to overcome homelessness.
Common Ground’s goal of developing and providing solutions to homelessness aligns with Affinia’s brand promise to provide customized comfort to guests. With a common mission of hospitality, both organizations share similar values, awareness and development goals, and are working together to develop opportunities that best serve the core constituents of Common Ground.
The partnership consists of volunteer opportunities for Affinia associates, custom guest-oriented programs and a variety of fund-raising initiatives. In addition, Affinia is committed to providing Common Ground with in-kind donations such as furniture, bedding and toiletries, and will offer training and employment opportunities to tenants.
