Our Story
Affinia is derived from the word “affinity,” meaning a natural attraction or feeling of kinship. It’s that kind of easy, relaxed feeling we hope to inspire in all our guests. An environment that instantly feels familiar and comfortable. The Affinia name and “tippin’ hat” logo are attributed to founder Benjamin J. “Bud” Denihan, Sr., who built a small dry cleaning company into the world-renowned B.J. Denihan Cleaner & Dryer, which later began our present collection of hotels. Bud often wore a fedora and, with his natural affinity for people, greeted everyone he met with a tip of his hat.
